David Marco, Consumer Rights Attorney in Illinois


David Marco is one of the founding partners of SmithMarco, P.C., and he has devoted the overwhelming majority of his professional career to the practice of consumer litigation. He has many years of litigation experience and currently represents consumers in cases arising out of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act, state lemon laws, the Illinois Consumer Fraud & Deceptive Business Practices Act and other consumer-related statutes.

Mr. Marco has successfully briefed and argued myriad motions on a wide-range of issues, arbitrated hundreds of cases, and tried countless cases to verdict. He has also resolved multifarious consumer cases by way of settlement.

Mr. Marco was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2000 and has been admitted to the State of Illinois and admitted in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Eighth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma and the Eastern District of Missouri. In order to represent the rights of consumers around the country, Mr. Marco has also been admitted pro hac vice in the U.S. District Courts in California, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Minnesota, New York and Washington and the state courts of Indiana and Arkansas.

Currently, Mr. Marco serves along with his partner, Larry Smith, as the state of Illinois co-chairmen for the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA).
