Indiana Lemon Law

Before you purchase a vehicle in Indiana, make sure you research everything you can about the vehicle.  Go on-line and look for ratings and other posts from customers.  You can learn about what complaints, if any, other buyers have had of certain vehicles.  Even after you purchase what you believe to be the right vehicle, a proper maintenance schedule is crucial.  When buying a car in Indiana, you have rights if your vehicle turns out to be a lemon.

  • If the vehicle undergoes 4 attempts to the same defect within 18 months after the date of delivery or18,000 miles, whichever occurs first, your vehicle may be a lemon; or
  • If the vehicle is out of service due to the repair of a defect for a total of 30 business days within 18 months after the date of delivery or18,000 miles, whichever occurs first, your vehicle may be a lemon.

Contact an attorney to help you determine if your vehicle may qualify for claims under the  Indiana lemon law.
