Bartholomew Stoddard spent the first years of his career prosecuting cases and representing victims at the State Attorney’s Office for the 12th Judicial Circuit in Florida, handling thousands of cases from inception through trial and appeal. Mr. Stoddard successfully prosecuted multifarious criminal matters including money laundering, computer hacking, identity theft and white-collar economic crimes, ultimately becoming the economic crimes special prosecutor for the county of Manatee Florida.

In joining SmithMarco, P.C., Mr. Stoddard has shifted his focus from representing victims of criminal fraud to protecting the rights of consumers across a broad spectrum of subject matters, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Electronic Fund Transfer Act as well as common law and statutory consumer fraud claims.

Mr. Stoddard is a Florida native, earning his B.A. degree from the University of South Florida in Criminology, and his Juris Doctor from Florida International University College of Law. Mr. Stoddard has provided training and guidance on fraud protection in the community and can be seen on local news stations giving presentations to at risk communities on fraud protection.
