
David Marco
David Marco is one of the founding partners of SmithMarco, P.C., and he has devoted the overwhelming majority of his professional career to the practice of consumer litigation and to protecting consumers’ rights. He has many years of litigation experience and currently represents consumers in cases arising out of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Illinois Consumer Fraud & Deceptive Business Practices Act, the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, the Florida, the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act, the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act, state lemon laws, and other consumer-related statutes. Mr. Marco has successfully briefed and argued myriad motions on a wide-range of issues, arbitrated hundreds of cases, and tried countless cases to verdict. He has also resolved multifarious consumer cases by way of settlement. He is a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates and former Illinois State Co-Chair. He is also a member of the NACA advanced litigators’ group for the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Mr. Marco was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2000 and the Florida Bar in 2016; he has also been admitted in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the Eighth Circuit, and the Eleventh Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts in Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, and the Eastern District of Missouri. In order to represent the rights of consumers around the country, Mr. Marco has also been admitted pro hac vice in the U.S. District Courts in Arizona, California, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington and the state courts of Arkansas, Indiana and Wisconsin.
