Washington Lemon Law
Lemon laws are both federal and state laws that provide a remedy to purchasers of motor vehicles that continue to fail to meet the standard of quality for a new vehicle. If your car, truck, or motorcycle has been through an unreasonable number of repair attempts, you may have purchased a “lemon” and may be eligible for recovery under the Washington Lemon Law.
The threshold for whether your car is a lemon in Washington is:
- at least four attempts to repair the same defect within two years or 24,000 miles; or
- if the vehicle is out of service for any issue for 30 or more calendar days within 2 years or 24,000 miles.
Should you feel your vehicle qualifies for a claim under the Washington Lemon Law, contact an attorney to help you determine your rights.
